Christmas Message

December 22, 2025

One of the traditions I find most enjoyable every 24th of December is the reciting of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas by poet Clement C. Moore. The title of the poem is A Visit from St. Nicholas. A beautiful copy of this book is in my personal library and is excitedly looked forward to each year, once by my children, and now grandchildren.

Stock Christmas Image This time of year, it affords an opportunity to count our blessings, while at the same time giving to those in need. At SeaComm we take this opportunity to remember those who are less fortunate by ringing the bell for the Salvation Army, packing baskets for a number of Christmas programs through our employee “Do Some Good” program or the purchasing of $5,000 worth of toys as part of our employee Christmas toy drive. We have continued to ensure that the food pantries, hospitals and other charitable organizations have received the benefit of SeaComm’s mission of “People Helping People” and have given more than $350,000 in community sponsorships and support during the year.

So as we ready for this most wonderful time of year, we at SeaComm can feel good knowing that we have made a difference in the lives of our members and the communities in which we do business.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, Management and Staff, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a New Year full of joy, hope and peace.

Assistance for Members Affected by Government Shutdown

October 23, 2025

Our priority at SeaComm is to always assist our members when they need us the most, and we are here to support you if you have been affected by the government shutdown. We absolutely understand that our members who are employed by the US Government may have difficulty making an auto loan, credit card, or mortgage payment, or may just need some additional credit to get through until the government is fully funded and paychecks resume.

We are open to assisting you with a number of options, including but not limited to: offering lines of credit, loan extensions, skip payments, bridge loans, or even waiving a penalty for early withdrawal on a Share Certificate. Please let us know how we can help by stopping into any of our 9 branches, by phone: (800) 764-0566, or by email: helpdesk@seacomm.org.

We are here to do whatever we can to support our members during the government shutdown.

SeaComm Joins Credit Unions Around the World in Celebration

October 16, 2025

October 16th is International Credit Union Day. The theme this year is Cooperation for a Prosperous World. This one day affords us an opportunity to be thankful to our movement and a celebration of the unique differences and impacts SeaComm and other financial cooperatives have made and continues to make for our members and the communities in which we do business.

All credit unions share a common goal to offer access to affordable financial services to their members and provide even the most financially disadvantaged, the tools and the opportunities to be financially self-sufficient. Making life choices and dreams a reality is the credit union difference that makes a real impact in our world.

Exceptional member service and democratic control are just some of the many benefits of being a credit union or cooperative member. That's as true at SeaComm as it is in other cooperatively-owned financial institutions from Brazil to Zimbabwe. Credit unions and other financial cooperatives are founded on community service, a principle that has set them apart for more than 163 years. At SeaComm, it all started with a tool box (which is iconic for us today and can be seen in the lobbies of all our branches), $50 and a shared vision of then ten Chevrolet Foundry workers, who each wanted to improve the financial lives of not only themselves, but those they worked with. That vision is no less important today than it was back on June 6, 1963.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, management and our entire staff, we join more than 400 million members around the world in this celebration and look forward to carrying on this rich history of improving the financial lives of our members and continuing the journey that was started by those ten men of People Helping People attain their dreams.

Happy International Credit Union Day!
